Shrub Appeal

Residential Reset

This homeowner was ready to press the "Reset" button on the overgrown shrubs taking over her landscape.  We removed eight very large shrubs and replaced them with petite and stylish alternatives.

I fell in love with the charming color of her siding (Which we could really appreciate with those shrubs out of the way!) and chose plants that would compliment it well.  Hydrangeas were selected to frame her porch because they would provide some light screening with long lasting blooms.

Some aspects of the garden could be re-used in the new design.  For instance, the cypress and spireas had great structure so we gave them a face lift with a strategic pruning.  We also left the ground cover to fill in the areas by the porch.

We accented the entryway with low growing perennials in a jewel tone color scheme and relocated a bigleaf hydrangea for additional color (not shown below because we forgot to get pictures!).
